EcoEmpower Alliance continued its commitment to environmental education with a special visit to the renowned Zaytuna Football Academy in the Northern Region. Home to over 400 aspiring young footballers aged 10 to 15, the academy provides a platform for these children to develop their skills while balancing their academic pursuits. The children gather for evening training sessions at the Tamale Technical University’s campus, making it an ideal setting for this impactful engagement.
The day began with a collaborative cleanup activity, bringing together members of EcoEmpower Alliance and the academy’s young athletes. The team worked tirelessly to clear the grounds of liter, particularly plastic waste, fostering a sense of responsibility and teamwork among the children. This hands-on activity underscored the importance of keeping their training environment clean and free from pollution.
Following the cleanup, EcoEmpower Alliance conducted a sensitization program, educating the children on the harmful effects of plastic waste on the environment. The session emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal and how their collective actions could contribute to a cleaner and greener future. Using relatable examples and interactive discussions, the children were encouraged to adopt eco-friendly habits, both on and off the field.
The engagement with Zaytuna Football Academy exemplifies EcoEmpower Alliance’s mission to inspire and empower the next generation to take ownership of their environment. By instilling these values in young minds, the organization aims to create a ripple effect of positive change across communities in the Northern Region.
The partnership between EcoEmpower Alliance and Zaytuna Football Academy highlights the importance of integrating environmental education into everyday activities. Together, they are paving the way for a more sustainable and conscious future, one cleanup and one lesson at a time.
