EcoEmpower Alliance extended its “Clean North, Green North” Initiative by engaging the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Prison Service in a collaborative clean-up exercise. This impactful event emphasized the critical issue of plastic pollution and how collective action can effectively address it.
The day began with an introduction to EcoEmpower Alliance’s mission and the objectives of the Clean North, Green North Initiative. Participants were sensitized on the dangers of plastic pollution and the importance of maintaining clean environments, even amidst demanding schedules.
Over 300 security personnel enthusiastically participated, dedicating their morning and afternoon to cleaning the premises of the Northern Regional Police Headquarters and its surrounding community. Armed with tools and determination, the participants worked tirelessly to restore the area’s cleanliness and hygiene.
This effort was further bolstered by our trusted partner, Zoomlion Ghana Ltd, which provided essential logistical support, including a large waste truck and two tricycles. These resources proved invaluable in collecting and transporting the significant volume of plastic waste gathered during the exercise.
Beyond addressing environmental concerns, the event fostered a sense of camaraderie and unity among the police and prison service personnel. It served as a powerful reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and community collaboration, even within the context of busy professional commitments.
EcoEmpower Alliance remains steadfast in its commitment to creating cleaner, greener communities through partnerships and collective action. The success of this event exemplifies the power of unity in tackling environmental challenges. Together, we continue to work toward a sustainable future for the Northern Region and beyond.
